Movement Direction is not an add-on. It's the layer that ensures it all works.
WITHOUT MOVEMENT DIRECTION
Responsibility fragments across departments.
Movement loses athletic credibility on camera.
Athletes begin to hesitate and self-protect.
Production slows. Risk increases.
Final content looks produced, not real.
WITH PORTLAND POV
Creative, athlete & production move as one system.
Movement holds up under real athletic logic.
Athletes execute with trust and instinct intact.
Fewer disruptions.
Cleaner days.
Stronger content.
The work earns belief.
PRE-PRODUCTION
We align movement with concept before production begins. Locations, timing, spacing, athlete workload. All evaluated against real athletic behavior before a single camera rolls.
PRODUCTION
On set, we direct in real time. Sport-literate. Precise. Calm. Athletes move instinctively within the framework of the shoot. Credibility stays intact through every take.
POST-PRODUCTION
We review content through a movement-specific lens. Editing and pacing can distort what was authentic on set. We make sure nothing breaks the truth of the performance in the edit.
NIKE OLYMPIC CAMPAIGN - PROOF OF CONCEPT:
During Nike's 2024 Olympic campaign, "Am I a Bad Person?" ad, part of the "Winning Isn't For Everyone" campaign, which won Film/TV/Video of the Year at the 2025 Ad Age Creativity Awards. Portland POV choreographed & directed movement across three cities, five athletes, and five distinct sets of production conditions.
Giannis Antetokounmpo & Ixhelt Gonzalezin Milwaukee.Commercial pacing without losing the physical authority that makes him and her credible as players.
Victor Wembanyama in Barcelona. Cross-language production under international pressure. Movement literacy instead of verbal override. His instinct stayed intact.
Aja Wilson & LeBron James (x2) in Los Angeles. Concurrent production at Crypto Arena. Schedule compression. High-pressure coordination. No shortcuts in movement execution.
3 markets. 1 movement standard. The work held because the movement was real.
Bring us in early.
Movement cannot be fixed after the fact. If your project involves real athletes and real movement, the conversation starts before production does.
